Hi,
how do I create an iso backup image in Ubuntu 8.04 on my SUN Netra T1?
I tried to download mondo but it does not run on an UltraSparc. Mkcdrec also does not seem to exist.
Since the Netra does not have a graphical interface I am using the TTYa port, so I have to script it.
Thanks for the help
So download the source for Mondo and/or mkcdrec, and install it that way. You might also want to check out systemimager.
You can also check out mkisofs. Read the man page for it...it might do what you're looking for. You don't say if you want this to be a bootable image, or just a backup/dump....
what I am looking for is to create a bootable iso image, such that I can reload the system in case of a crash.
Thanks for the help.
Ok...then compile mondo, mkcdrec, or systemimager from source, and you should be in good shape. There is also an excellent tutorial on "dd" on this site. Will help you use DD to get things going, although I'm not sure it'll fit your needs.
