Sun Java Plugin in Ubuntu LL 64 bit

I have some problems with Sun-Java plug in, Firefox 8 and Ubuntu LL 64 Bit.

Java is installed; java -version gives me
Code:
tommaso@Portatile:~$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_26"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_26-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.1-b02, mixed mode)
it is selected, sudo update-alternatives --config java gives me
Code:
presente una sola alternativa nel gruppo java: /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun/jre/bin/java
Nulla da configurare.
which is the italian for "There's only Sun Java and no other possibilities so there's nothing to configure"

BUT

I still can't get to make my plug in to work: everytime I try to run a java applet I get messages like "Please install java", even with the ufficial Sun test page, http://java.com/it/download/installed.jsp.

The sun-java-plugin packege is installed, according to synaptic, but there's nothing named java in the /home/.mozilla/plugins folder or in the Mozilla lib folder...

I don't want to install OpenJDK and IcedTea, I just need Sun Java...

Solved by removing, cleaning up (bleachbit - deborphan) and reinstalling Java!
Easier than I thought!
