Summary of basic info
Hi!
Even though I have used Linux, mostly CentOS on our Single OS servers for over a dozen years, I am a total newbie when it comes to dual OS home computers. In the tech support column in the Dear Webby Humor Letter I mostly answer Windows questions and occasionally recommend Linux. Frequently the questions are too specific. Is there a reasonably short summary somewhere, that answers questions like: "Can you read/write from/to the Windows partition while running Linux, for example Mandriva?" (That is a question I was asked today) Thanks for any help! |
You can just use the search fn here at LQ or Google.
The short answer to that specific qn is yes ;) Basically, you mount the MS partition using correct fs type eg http://www.techonthenet.com/linux/mount.php or http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=217009 |
Thanks Chrism!
Thanks Chrism! That was the answer I hoped to get.
