sudo ifconfig - result: pan1
I ran sudo ifconfig and I got:
eth0,lo,and pan1 Pan1? After googling it, I found out that it has to do with bluetooth. But I am not working with bluetooth right now! What is going on. Should I switch it off? |
Sure you can switch it off.
This doesn't mean that bluetooth is in use either, just that you have that capability, the driver is enabled, and the service is potentially ready to accept or make a bluetooth connection with a peer. If you don't wish to ever use it, or wish to control whether or not it is available, then find what's enabling it, and disable that. |
Thank you, rtmistler.

still curious about pan1
rtmistler if you happen to see this post... Im curious about the assignment of an ipaddress to pan1 and why it differs from the typical 192.168.X.X assignment? Any info on that? Thanks in advance.
