Substitute for Nokia PC Suite or synchronizing data from a Nokia phone

Hi,

I was looking for a way to get the same or similar functionality as the Nokia PC Suite on Ubuntu 10.04. I did find a discussion here http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-suite-645926/. However it is fairly old (2008). I was wondering if it is possible to get more recent information.
In the Ubuntu Software Center I find two applications that seem to fit the bill. I need to know which is better or are the complimentary.
I am new to Linux, so pardon me if that is not the right question:)

Thanks
Amitava

I doubt Nokia will ever release a "Nokia PC Suite for Linux". Since you didn't list which ones are available to you I'd say Gnokii or Gammu. Just install both and see which performs best with your phone.

Gnokii and Gammu were the two applications I had been referring to. I tried both, but neither worked for my phone. I guess I will just have to go the windows route, I am afraid.

Thanks,

Amitava

Posting your phone and connection specs, any configurations you've tried and exact error messages is better than saying "didn't work".
