submit job 2 processors

Hello people,

I am working on a machine that runs under red hat 9.0. Physically it has two (2) processors but the software reports four (4). All I want to do is to send my jobs to a specific CPU. For example, I want to tell it:
<my_command_1> in cpu0
<my_command_2> in cpu1
.
.
.
Thanks for any help!.

If you'r CPU's are hyperthreading Xeon's it's perfectly
normal for you to see 4 CPU's.

As for the assigning of a task to a specific processor:
to the best of my knowledge that's impossible, I've
googled a bit and found only references in the Beowulf-
Howto that stated it's not possible (at the time of the
writing).

But really, Linux is very clever in CPU and memory
management, you probably should trust the OS ;)

Cheers,
Tink
