Stupid newbie question on Slackware package management

I am still new to Linux, and more so to Slackware. i just wanted to ask something about its package management. I just ran 'installpkg' on a bunch of packages that I had already installed by mistake. The installs ran anyway, instead of telling me they were already installed. Will my system have suffered any ill effects from this (doubled up programs etc.)? Or is there no effect at all?

Other than a bunch of config files, you shouldn't see any difference at all.

nose around in /var/log/packages if you want. anything you installed using installpkg should have a text file in the directory listing all the files created during installation.
