Thumbs down Struggling to install Stegdetect

Hi there,

I'm trying to install StegDetect, and after some research this is what I've done so far:

Code:
tar -zxf stegdetect.tar.gz
cd stegdetect
./configure
./configure always failed, so I followed this here:

http://www.andrehonsberg.com/article...iler-in-ubuntu

Then it worked, so...

Code:
./configure
make
make install
However, when I do 'make install', I'm returned with this error:

Code:
adam@lappy:~/Desktop/stegdetect-0.6$ make install
Making install in jpeg-6b
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/adam/Desktop/stegdetect-0.6/jpeg-6b'
/usr/bin/install -c cjpeg /usr/local/bin/cjpeg
/usr/bin/install: cannot remove `/usr/local/bin/cjpeg': Permission denied
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/adam/Desktop/stegdetect-0.6/jpeg-6b'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1
Sadly there is no specific google results when researching this

Thanks
Adam

Edit:

Oh, and I've also tried:

Code:
sudo make install
Same output.

'make install' needs to run as root and in your case you should first try 'sudo rm -f /usr/local/bin/cjpeg'.

Become root ('su -l') then run 'make install'?
