Streamming television over LAN

Well, I've got a home-made server with a tv card in (an Avermedia AverTV 103) witch runs nicely in linux. This computer is running Debian Sarge with icewm.

I've been searching around and I've reached to the conclusion that is possible to do television streamming from the tv card to the LAN were it's connected the computer.

VLS and MYTHTV are the applications I've tried... but not successfully.

So, do you know how to do this?

I'm going to do a HOW-TO after I have it running, since there is information on the web but not to much concrete. I'll tell here where.

I've seen it done (though not done it myself) using VideoLan (VLS and VLC).

Can you ask if he/she would like to help me, or if can let me have a look at his vls.cfg file?

I'll send him an email and let you know.

How were you unsuccessful with mythtv? With the install, or the configuration, or the deployment across multiple boxes, or the...
