Streaming audio not working
Hi guys..suvir here...i am having a problem
I am running ubuntu jaunty and I am unable to run any audio streaming website properly. I have tried grooveshark.com and last.fm. They just load but the music does not play at all. Btw youtube is working fine, just in case. Please let me know what i am missing. Thanks! Suvir |
mplayer should work. I went to last.fm, and saw that it's flash. So, I tried it and I got it working. I've got flashplayer 10 installed (specifically, from the package flashplugin-nonfree). Installing mozilla-mplayer and sun-java6-jre is a good idea, too (though likely not necessary for these sites).
If you already have flashplugin-nonfree, perhaps you could try "sudo dpkg-reconfigure flashplugin-nonfree", which, I think, will update flash to the latest (I say this assuming that Ubuntu has a flashplugin-nonfree package -- I use Debian, so I figure Ubuntu has got something similar) |
I had a similar problem- the problem was I had installed two different sets of flash codecs... Youtube worked... sometimes... but last.fm and pandora- never. I just unistalled all the flash codecs and installed the official ones- and all was cool.
