Strange sounds


hey guys ,
i am having one of the most bizarre problems on my pc ,
it simply rings randomly with no reason ...
i hear a ring a simple ring...
i even sent it for a hardware repair and they sent it back saying that the hardware was just fine....
i have a sigmatel sound card , and uses Fc4 and WinXP

the ring is so F****** annoying so plz i desperatly need ur help...

I Know It Sounds Silly, But...

Have you checked the sound events? You didn't list which particular OS you're having this problem with or if it is all of them in your profile. But you should be able to check to see if this ring sound is associated with an event.

whilst checking the event sounds, do you have an IM logged in continuously? perhaps, somehow, there may be event sounds in that program - actually check all your 'running' software for event sounds.

it was a sound event prob
