stop loading modules at startup..please help
Hi all,
I want to stop linux loading the service "sbpcd" and "optcd" at startup... At the moment I removed the modules manually using "modprobe -r <module>" How can I remove them otherwise (so that they donīt load on startup?) Greetz GSX PS: Iīm running Debian Sarge kernel: 2.6.6-1 |
Hi GSX,
Go into /etc/modules.conf and comment out the lines that contain modules you don't want to load on boot. Thanks, Harlin |
Hi,
thx for your fast reply... Do you know if itīs also modules.conf when using debian? Greetz |
Yes it should be unless you've made some very customized changes ;-)
|
OK thx a lot ...
Greetz |
if you use kernel version 2.6 it might also be in modprobe.conf so beware.
