Stinky web fonts

Hi, I've got another one! Gosh darn it. ^^;

Well ya know how on websites Arial and Verdana and Times New Roman are always used? I don't have those fonts even though I tried to put them in the font folder (location: "fonts:///"). That always works on Windows...anyway, most websites look pretty dumb with the same old font for each and every one. And, though this is kind of unrelated, I've been surfing for a while and I can't find any of those neato novelty fonts for Linux. Poop!

I use Mozilla on Redhat 9, in case that's important. So, what the heck am I supposed to do? Waaah...frusteration...

Do you mean your browser does not render the font correctly or your web server does not display the correct fonts ?

Check your browser setting and make sure "Always use my" options are NOT set.

hmmmm....... maybe your RH is screwing over your fonts. Check you xinitrc file to see if it is making font changes.

I am running slackware 9.1 and mozilla firebird and have not trouble.
