Ok, using Firefox 1.0 java jre 1.5.0.01, redhat 9.0

firefox/lib/firefox-1.0/plugins
it's there can't just make another one yourself |
so your saying if i had firefox in usr/local.... its going to be /usr/local/firefox/lib/firefox-1.0/plugins?
because i dont even have a /usr/local/firefox/lib |
Why not add it to your user directory? There should be a folder located at ~/.mozilla/plugins that you can copy or move plugins to.
Also, where did you install firefox to? You can use locate firefox | grep plugins after an updatedb to find the plugin dir of the installed firefox. |
My Java plugin for FireFox is in /usr/lib/mozilla/1.x You have to make a sym link to the java plugin that is in the /usr/java file.
