Still having problems with installing VLC

VLC Player problems...I got the file to unpack using the text mode finally but it still won't install

I am going to root and typing in

rpm -i vlc/*--force

Does not work...I also tried exact location of the file

rpm -i /home/saviour/vlc/*--force

no luck...any help. Thanks!

I could be missing something here but you may want to try typing:

rpm -i --force /home/saviour/vlc/*

That:

rpm -i /home/saviour/vlc/*--force

Doesn't look like the right syntax to me. But I don't use Red Hat much, so I may be very wrong. Worth a try any way.
