StartX for Winodws


Hi All

Looking for a GUI program to run on windows does anyone know were I can get a free copy of it

Cool Xwindows

I Don't want the whole of linux on my system, I just want the xwindows interface to use on windows XP system....

I don't understand what you mean. As how I understand, cygwin is the most closest to what you want: it is not a Linux and it is not a separate OS, but a collection of GNU tools (including X Server) compiled as a windows programs. The overall experience can be something like a Unix with MS kernel in its best. (Windows is one of the most horrible Unix distributions. )

Cygwin can provide just that, and it's free.
If you don't mind paying a little money look for X-Win32, Exceed.
