startup hang after configuring kernel parameter
my redhat 7.2 hang during startup right after
configuring kernel parameter [ok] i did a autopartition, minimum installation on my harddisk, booting using grub (redhat7.2) but the error still presist can anybody tell me any kind of trick/tip that i should try on? thank you my spec ---------------- amd k6-2 500mhz 128sdram gigabyte ga5ax motherboard bios ver F4 st340014a seagate 40gb 7200rpm harddisk planet 10/100 network card 8mb savage 3d display card creative vibra 128 |
hmmm...
did you mean you just recompiled the kernel? and then installed it and rebooted? If so then i would guess that one of your new settings is meassed up. try booting with a rescue bootdisk and recompiling a new kernel or use the old one. |
sorry, i think i mess up something
ok start from beginning i did a clean installation using auto partition option install minimum software as i can ... installation sucess ... the computer startup ... the computer hang after the line configuring kernel parameter [ok] i disable dma bye linux ide=nodma, disable pnp in bios but the problem still there wonder why? |
well i wish i knew more about the redhat startup process. if i were you i would find out what it does after configureing kernel parameter [ok]. that is probably the service that is messing things up i would guess. good luck
