Startup Daemon on Boot

How do you do this? I want OpenMosix's Auto-discovery daemon (omdiscd) to run when I boot the computer so that I won't have to login as root to start it every time. Is this possible???

Thanks!

this is for debian, probably the same for Knoppix as well:
make a file in /etc/init.d, i'll call it rc.local, with the following content

#! /bin/sh

<your commands to execute>

Make this file executable with:
chmod +x /etc/init.d/rc.local

then links it to all runlevels
update-rc.d rc.local defaults 99
