startup


how do i remove thing such as ppp0 and sendmail from my start up script?
(the script that runs on startup (couldn't find it in /etc/rc.d/ so please, be specific)).

What distro? Different distributions use different directory structures and filename.

If 9 is like I remember the file should be under /etc/rc.d/init.d/ or /etc/init.d

You should also remove the symlinks in /etc/rc.d/rcX.d Where X is the runlevel. They usually add SXX or KXX to the begining of the names ( where XX is some number ).
