starting programs at startup

ok so i have installed gDesklets and Eterm and configured them how i like... but i have no idea how to get them to startup when i login, i tried using sessions but it didnt seem to work right, maybe i typed the wrong thing? im running fedora core 3 and gnome 2.8 with kernal 2.6.10, if that makes any difference... any help would be great, thanks in advance and sorry for the extreme newb question!!

oh the command i use to start eterm is

Code:

Eterm -x -O --buttonbar no --scrollbar no --no-cursor yes --geometry 97x26+0-22
EDIT: also when Eterm and Torsmo start they show in the taskbar panel... how would i make it so they dont?

You need to tell gnome to 'save session' when you exit. That way, when you restart gnome, all the programs that were running when you exited will startup again.

thats a nice and simple fix... if only itd work :\ when i try to use that a list pops up and says 'gDesklets and Eterm cannot be started with this method. you must start them manually' or something to that effect.... any other ideas?
