starting kde
Hey guys, i just got my X11 forwarding to work, so now i can type XTERM, or XClock and it will show up on my win box. However, what command will start my kde.
i tried startkde, start kde but that didnt work: [root@cis15 /]# startkde bash: startkde: command not found is there something i should be doing, that im not? TY |
kde-init or maybe kde?
you can still run individual kde programs. |
here's the error when i do kdeinit
$ kdeinit _KDE_IceTransmkdir: Owner of /tmp/.ICE-unix should be set to root DCOPServer up and running. Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display "209.2.7.248:0.0". what would some other kde programs be? ty |

maybe your kde bin directory isn't in your path?
|
try startx? :D
|
try kdm for Kde Display Manager but you have to be loged in as root to start it
then select the desktop you want to boot, kde gome etc. |
