start vnc server


I know two method can start vnc server

1) /usr/bin/vncserver
2 /etc/bak/rc.d/init.d/vncserver start

can advise what is the difference ? which one is better ?

Hi,

I could be wrong but option 1) runs a single instance by a user. Option 2) allows multiple vnc instances to be available. On which one is better depends on how you want your vncserver to be available to users.

I tried , if I use method 2 , the service is started but user can not connect it , while method 1 works fine.

I dont know what's your distro is but this should work on rhel/centOS
