I am trying to run tpconfig from /etc/init.d/rcS. In this script is the following:

echo -n "Turning off Touch-Pad 'tapping' "
tpconfig --tapmode=0

At start up I see this echo on the screen scroll by, as well the message command not found.

I am trying to take a closer look at these messages, but can not find them anywhere.

As you can see, my larger problem is I can not get tpconfig to run properly. Suggestions on this would also be helpful.

I do not see all the messages that I see at start up in the location you specified. This may be an issue of system logging level. I do not know where else to look. Thanks for your help.

I'm actually getting a couple of messages when the system boots, that I cant see in any of the logs. When the kernel loads I can see something about ide auto detect fatal module not found, or something along those lines. But it scrolls past so quick, I cant read it. Looking in /var/log/kernel, and messages, I cant find anything about it. Theres actually a few fatal messages that come up, and I'd be interested to know what they are, but cant find them. Is there a way you can slow down the boot up messages so that you can actually read them?

Here is my kernel and messages (next post) logs. I see a few at start up that I do not see in these logs. For example, module failed messages, and a directory or file not found message for /home/peter/touchpad.sh. This again all stems from me trying to "tpconfig" to run at start up.
