start a Linux Program over webfront?

I used php applicaton to send lots a emails, but during the time the PHP runs is the browser waiting(freezes) till the PHP has finished.

Would it work when I write a Perl application which would be started from the WebPanel? Doesn't Webmin do it too?
Is there a SECURE posibility to start the a Perl Script out of Apache?

I''m not sure if I'm getting you correctly, but you can run a PERL script as a CGI app from Apache.

do you mean how like Webmin does it? I thought of that and that could be
a possiblitiy I guess. How is the security when I use CGI? no problem?

I saw that some people are against CGI and sugguested to install mod_perl and use Perl to do it. how is that?

Sorry can't help you with the mod_perl...I've never done it myself. I have ran scripts/command from PHP howver...which sometimes requires the use of the sudoers file.

Maybe restating your problem might help. Better yet a wiser Linux user could put their two cents in.
