StarOffice - Need English installed

I accidentally installed the Spanish version of StarOffice. Every time I try to uninstall it, the system says that it is not installed! So I try to install the English version, but the system then complains that a newer version (Spanish) is already installed.
I've tried installing the Spanish version again, then uninstalling, but then the circle continues.
I've tried ideas from other threads, i.e., using "Setup" inside the StarOffice directory, but it just re-installs the Spanish version. I've tried "RPM -e " against the CD-ROM setup routine, but the system says the package is not installed.
Do I use RPM? If so, against what? Any help is appreciated.
