1. I use FC3 and I have LAN which has traffic and there is IP conflict in my LAN so whenever I turn on my computer I have to find a new IP. But this is not a problem for me. the main problem is that when I chose an IP if someone else with windows wants to use the same IP as I use he can easily use my IP and i will have IP conflict and I get disconnected from internet and I have to change it again and again.
So I want to have an IP so that when I am using it no one else can use it simultaneously.

Are you sure there's no DHCP server in your network which you can use to get an IP?

The list changes, it's not static. You can use a program like ettercap to get a list of currently running IPs.

We don't answer such questions. If you're sure that security of your network is very low, help your friend by setting the machine in a more secure way, show security-based distributions like Smoothwall which can be used as a firewal machine etc.

Yes, that's true and it's admin's job to make it all work correctly (assign IPs to MAC addresses or something similar). You can't do much - you don't have control over person choosing their address.

Do you know how I can have a stable IP? I want when other people try to get my IP they notice that this IP is currently in use.

Well, you can always leave your computer on with the IP you want but still, what are the odds of someone picking your IP out of the hundreds?

Our network has so many users and some people set thei IP manually.
That's why I have always IP conflict

It's admin's fault. The network may be set up to assign IP based on MAC address (possible to break it, of course, but requires much more knowledge). With the situation as it is now you can't make sure someone will not get the address you're using. But... the users who set their IPs manually probably have one address in the config. If you can observe it, note down the addresses when conflicts happen. Don't use them again and it should be better (less conflict probability).
