Hi. I'm a complete newbie to all things Linux, and I need to change permissions on folders on a Fasthosts server.
Normally we would do this using Fetch (we're Mac based), but Fasthosts don't allow this, and I've been directed to an SSH client called niftytelnet.
I can use this to get into the site, but once there I don't know what to do. Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

After you're in use chmod (attributes) or chown (owner) commands.
You can read help using
man chmod
or
man chown
