Hello and welcome to LinuxQuestions,

Have a look at this site for some pointers on how to solve the file descriptor problem. You should also review your configuration of Squid and check the settings referring to your cache.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hello,

If you already increased your number of file descriptors and after some time this error occurs again, then you'll have to look at your Squid cache directives as I pointed out earlier. The answer to your purge question can be found at the Squid Wiki, a very good source of information.

Kind regards,

Eric
