Upgrade to 10.04 if you can, because it fixes the PulseAudio bugs in 9.10.

Sarg is a report generator and analyzer that you can install and use to analyze the logs in much easier and better way. Can you somehow install webmin on your squid server?

Sorry, I shouldn't have posted about something so off topic. PulseAudio is the sound card driver that comes prepackaged with Ubuntu 9.10 and up in place of ALSA.

That is all okay. That statement might be useful for someone who is struggling with audio. But it does not help OP with squid and sarg.

Wink

sorry but i know that and if you read the previous posts i have installed it. also installed webmin as well but for some reason can only use it locally and not from the network. as for sarg it gives blank reports. So i just need it to start reporting.

Sorry. This thread has grown big to follow. You need to allow connections to webmin from remote machines. You can do this in webmin configuration window. Webmin has plugin for Sarg as well. So install the Sarg plugin and configure it. And please tell how you are using sarg?

Open webmin on a browser. Login. Open Webmin > Webmin Configuration > IP Access control.

Tried that. Allow all IP but i still have that problem.

When i try from anotehr workstation and type in 10.1.2.32:10000 i get

This web server is running in SSL mode. Try the URL https://proxified.local:10000/ instead.

when i try https://proxified.local:10000 i get

firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.

What is restricting me ?

thanks for the help so far..cheers

Your squid server is not allowing secure connections. You will need to configure your squid to allow secure connections on at least the local network. Or if your webmin is on your local network, configure your FF to by pass proxy for local networks.
