Squid Installation help

I have Mandrake Official 10 and installed squid from the cds and i wanted to know how to set it up for getting faster speed on the internet. Can anyonw help me?

Dosen't work that way. The speed you get from your internet connection depends on internet service and modem type (within limits). Squid just allows simple port redirecting from other local networked pcs so they can access the internet. In other words, Squid is a local networlk issue and has nothing to do with the speed you get from the internet.

Well i use the 24online client to connect to the internet its somewhat like a broadband connection. and the person giving me the conn restricts the speed to only 4kb/s. Is there no tool to increase the speed.
