Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I am using squid 3.0 Stable 13,dansguardian 188.8.131.52.3+shorewall 4.2.4.Squid running on 3128;DG on 8080.I am using NTLM and basic auth for authenticating users.
I have 3 filter groups in DG
FG1 for default access - only some allowed sites
FG2 for full access
FG3 for HR - job sites opened
I have some issues.
1. for users logged in to the domain the combination workd fine and smooth
2. For users not logged in domain (workgroup or users logging in a domain joined machines with local user account etc),there is prompt only for those sites that i have allowed in the default filter group.for the rest of the site it directly goes to access denied. It does not prompt. So if a AD user is in FG2,the user logs in locally ,he is directed to Fg1 as there is no prompt for username and passerd.
If i add the local user to the filter group 2,there is a prompt for username and password
also the prompt is something like connect to proxy which is similar to the one we get if we give \\machine name.It is not the on the basic scheme gives.
has any one got this type of setup up and running properly?
