squid configuration


hello to all,

is there somebody who can explain to me this

cache_dir diskd /cache 128 16 256

if i have a 10G for /cache

/cache - directory
128 - ????? how can i get the value for this field using 10G for /cache
16 - ????? how can i get the value for this field using 10G for /cache
256 - ???? how can i get the value for this field using 10G for /cache

I believe that those are cached memory, not storage. Google for squid and read the docs.

Also try seaching linuxquestions.org, I just found a bunch of posts that could/can explain it to you a little more. Below is one

Have you tried reading the VERY well documented
squid.conf file? 16 and 256 have NOTHING to do with
the allotted disk size.... and how to change a 128 to a
10000 I will leave to your own imagination.... ;}
