squid cache


after installing and configuring squid when i try to create the cache swap directories i get the following error
-bash-3.2# squid -z
2010/05/23 18:03:03| Creating Swap Directories
FATAL: Failed to make swap directory /cache: (13) Permission denied
Squid Cache (Version 2.7.STABLE6): Terminated abnormally.
CPU Usage: 0.000 seconds = 0.000 user + 0.000 sys
Maximum Resident Size: 0 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 0

please advice

Hi,

Does the directory /cache exist and is writable by the user that runs squid? What gives:
