Angry Speedtouch 330 rev4 with fedora

Hi, I know this has *probabbly* been asked before but....

- I have Fedora core 1 (Unsure of my kernal - but it came straght out of the box - i *could* get it if its *really* needed)

- I have an Alcatel adsl modem (330) rev4 (the silver 1)

i have looked for at least a week and a half trying all these different tutorials and such and i think the driver is installed right as i get this as when u do the usb finder command thing it comes up!

but - this is what happens......

#pppd call adsl updetach

Sent [LCP confreq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0> <magic 0x11e638f3>]

over and over (the number at the end changes each time it makes a different connection attempt) untill it times out - my maxconfigue statment is on 900 as i needed 2 make sure i was giving it enough time.

any ideas?!

thank you

Darren

It would be helpfull to know what kernel you're using. If you enter

uname -r

into a terminal it will tell you. Also, what have you done to get this far? Did you use the speedbundle http://www.4p8.com/eric.brasseur/spe...le_fedora.html or speedtouchconf http://speedtouchconf.sourceforge.net/ ?

Well I ran "uname -r" and got....

2.4.22-1.2115.nptl

in regards to your other question i did run a speedbundle package but I did not do it how that page says - also it looks like the speedtouchconf looks better doesnt it - however now i have tried to install the other one - i will need to reverse what i have done right?

Well done. I was typing this to reply to your previous post and by the time I'd finished tapping away you'd fixed it. Cool.

I used spedtouchconf from Fedora 1 as well... Worked almost flawlessly... I just had to delete speedtch.o as it was messing things up...
