Question Spectra Linux 1.2 Kernel 2.4.18-6pro i686 Respawning and localhost login problem

I just installed Linux Spectra 1.2 to my comp.
my linux starts normally until the point of localhost login, then it starts to blink the screen several times and then it gives a message: INIT: Id "x" respawning too fast. disabled for 5 minutes
then comes the localhost login phase but whatever i type my keyboard gets disabled in the password phase.
What's wrong here?
