speaker do not work

My laptop has sound, it's working.
When I connect it to my speakers, or my phones, is doesn't work. Since I am completely new to Linux, can you tell me what do I have to look for?
My speakers are Genius, SP-G06.

Open a mixer tool like alsamixer, kamix, kmix, or any number of others and see if there is a headphone channel, Check to see if it needs turned up or is muted.

I think your mini-jack output is wasted. I have the same thing with my laptop. Otherwise your speakers are dead, or wires arent well connected.

Everything that can be turnde on in Alsa Mixer is turned on. It can't be any problem with the wires or something with the hardware, since it works with Windows XP.

My only thought is it may be propertory hardware and on the windows side requires a driver. Search in the HCL section here at the top for your model. Also check at
