Spamassassin Stop Sliently
 

Hi! all,

I'm running RH9, sendmail 8.12.10 and recently just installed Spamassassin (SA) 2.44 from rpm that comes w/ RH CD. After I installed SA and created the file /etc/procmailrc, the SA works fine and were able to filter the spam. But sometimes, when I check the maillog, the msg "connect() to spamd 127.0.0.1 failed". I realized that the SA was stopped sliently since there is no log in /var/log/message and /var/log/maillog saying that the SA was shutdown. The questions are

1. Where can I look for the SA shutdown/startup? I believe is in /var/log/message but nth in there.

2. Why the SA shutdown automatically and sliently?

3. How to fix this problem?

After I "service spamassassin restart" , it works fine again and able to filter spam. There is no "pattern" to let me know what the reason to make SA stop sliently. It seems to be happened randomly.
