space left on HD???


hi all, well the subject speaks for it's self. i would like to know how to tell how much space is left on the HD. see i've used mac os all my life and in the finder it's just at the bottom of the window. so i have ubuntu with gnome and kde and in both file browsers that come with theres nothing like that so i was wondering if there a setting i have to change or something

there are plenty of applets you can add to various toolbars and such, but at the end of the day, just run "df -h" in a terminal and you'll get what you want to know.

"df -h" is the easiest way; however, if you're using Debian and Ubuntu, you should always see the free space in the left corner of any Nautilus (file manager) window.

Edit:
