Question Source iso vs. Binary iso


I know that only the binary iso files are required for installation, but what is the purpose of the source iso's of a distrobution?

Well, if you want to see the source of all the code. That's part of the GPL, if you modify or distribute under the GPL, you provide the source code of the program(s) as well.

Ah so there is no reason for Joe-end-user like me to waste the bandwidth downloading the source isos. Thanks Tricky. Ooohh, I am downloading the last disk for Red Hat 9....
