Unhappy soundcore

I have been trying for three days to get my soundcard to work.
It is a ad1816a built onto my motherboard. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...milies/mad.gif(HP)
And I have been using alsa drivers from what I can tell my soundcore is not up.
When I try to run sndconfig it says soundcore module mot running.

Please help.

kmitchel,

Hello. Is your kernel configured for modular sound support? This would mean that under the option for sound support during make [x,menu]config, "m" is chosen and not "y". Modular sound support (I believe) will create the soundcore.o module. Just a thought.
