Soundcard detected but not playing CDs.

Hi, I have used the soundcard detect on KDE, plays some nice chords.

However, when I put a CD into the drive and click play, the counter ticks but no sound comes out! I have tried more than one CD to make sure it isn't with them.

One thing I did notice was that it is saying 'no matching entry free db found.'

Did you make sure the CDROM is connected to the soundcard?

Yea, like Berto said, sounds more like a hardware issue. There should be a small cable that runs from your Cd rom drive to the cdrom port on your sound card.

Are you using KsCD??
bring up the config panel, find the panel has Settings and Behavior and make sure the CD-Rom device is set to......./dev/cdrom----this should be the default anyways.
