Soundblaster help


I've got a soundblaster live in my computer, and also onboard VIA sound...sound only works out of the soundblaster if im playing a cd....but not otherwise....any help?

Ok, did you disable the onboard sound chip? There are jumpers on the mobo just find the right one and pull it out (refer to the mobo manual for details), then chck if the sound module for SB is loaded

Try running sndconfig, as root, from a console or the command line.
