SoundBlaster Audigy

Hey,
I've been having a bit of trouble with getting sound to work on my computer. I recently switched to linux from windows. I'm duel booting on debian running the newest version of gnome. I was messing around with some kernel configurations and at one point sound was working and the computer was recognizing my sound card. Now, however, for some reason, I have no sound. I tried messing with the volume controls and the speakers. Sound works fine when I boot up in windows. I'm using a soundblaster audigy. Any ideas?

ps, the linux volume controls are CRAZY.

ummm...are you using a 2.6 kernel with the proper alsa drivers compiled? I suspect you disabled your soundcard when you were "messing around with some kernel configurations".

Well go back into your kernel config and make sure you have alsa installed as well as the proper alsa modules for your sound card. You don't have to compile them as modules.
