Sound probs...

Okay it seems this has been addressed many, many times before but i cant seem to find the outcomes so well... and the ones i have been able to try havnt worked.

Okay, so i have Mandrake 9.1 (looks to the left then rushes off to change his profile) and its freshly installed. Mandrake 8.2 ran just fine with sound, but 9.1 doesnt.

http://66.98.158.200/vb/showthread.p...threadid=21208

Theres a thread about it that ive started in another forum, but they arnt linux geeks so...

thanx

Start with HardDrake, and see if you get going on that. Does it play a test sound, does it detect the correct card.

http://doc.mandrakelinux.com/Mandrak...harddrake.html

Also,

ISA PnP devices are not probed for by HardDrake. In order to configure them, run sndconfig on the command line. You will need to install the sndconfig package if needed.

You would, as in the last thread, open an xterm

su - root
<password>
sndconfig.
