Sound problems on an Acer 64bit laptop
I'm very new to Linux (installed PCLinuxOS a week ago) however with the help of this forum I've resolved a few issues. I now seem to be down to the last outstanding problem - I can't manage to get any sound on my laptop.
PCLinuxOS correctly identifies my sound card. However when I search around with various tools I'm told that the card isn't configured (SiS7012PCI audio accelerator with snd-Intel8x0 driver)
I can manage to receive audio from Skype but not send audio to Skype - using my VOIP phone but nothing on my main speakers.
I've updated the ALSA drivers but the old versio
n still loads when booting.
Any ideas where and how I can correct this problem?
