Sound Problems In Fedora...

I installed Fedora Core 3 on my PC about a week ago. Everything worked fine until I let up2date download and install some updates. Now I have no sound whatsoever. So to sum up my problem: I had sound. Now I don't have sound. I need sound. Any assistance will be greatly appreaciated.

A lot of issues with that. Take a look at this.

I'm going to assume you have XMMS,

Go into it, slide the volume bar up and down. Get a mild crackle? If yes, Up2date has reset the volume controls. Go into volume control and raise the volume for master, pcm, and wave. Now try it.

This has been the problem I've experienced 100% of the time. Hope it helps.

Well I tried it. No mild crackle. My volume is turned up already... I've been trying some of the solutions listed on the other thread but nothing has been successful so far. Any more suggestions?
