sound problem on centos

hello,

have a problem setting up the sound card on centOS version 4.4 x64.

have downloaded and installed the driver 'realtek-linux-audiopack-4.05f.tar.bz2'
and got the 'found new hardware...' thin on the next reboot, and it seemed to got
the correct sound card (Realtek) but it didn't install it. I could see the red failed
on the loadup.

as for hardware, I have the ASRock AliveXFire-eSATA2 and I'm using it's intenal audio device.
when I looked inside /dev (the place where I went in when I had the ntfs problem) I could find no DSP
or anythink like it, nithing.
on some web page the have indicated the /dev/MAKEDEV sound...
tried it and got a /dev/dsp + other devices, but it didn't remain after reboot.

so, if you have any idea..
thanks in advance'
GR.

To start, I'd recommend trying a newer snapshot of alsa driver. Download this version to start with. After building and installing that version, if you still have audio issues, please run this script and post the link that it creates.
