Sound problem ->no sound
 
Im new to linux (suse 9.3), and im loving it.

My problem is that i can't hear the music playing. THe SYSTEM sounds work just fine (like startup sound and shutdown sound), i just can't hear anything playing on RealPlayer 10 or the mp3player. ANd yes, i've cranked up the volume, but still, nothing.
any suggestions?

How did you "crank up the volume"?

If you're using Alsa, try "alsamixer" as root and check your volume levels for the different channels.
