Sound not working with RedHat 9

Hi all,
I just signed up today and posted a thread in the hardware section. But now realized maybe I should have posted here as well. Anyways, the problem is that I bought p4p800 board which comes with onboard audio. I am trying to use the alsa drivers off the ASUS website but can't install

Can anyone please look at this thread and suggest something

jineeshnk if you are STILL USING THE VERY VERY OLD rh9 ( end of life in 2004)
that IS your problem

install a current AND supported operating system

you must have installed it on an old computer RH9 will not install on a new box ( except in a VM )

look into downloading CentOS 5.3 ( the FREE version of RHEL 5.3 )
http://www.centos.org/
or BETTER yet Ubuntu
http://www.ubuntu.com/

there is NO support for rh9 and it will not work with new hardware.
