Sound not detected

I am running Mandrake 10.0 and my sound card is not detected. I go into HardDrake and it detects everything but my sound card. I have read a post on here (but didnt help) and they said to type in the terminal ''dmesg'' I would post it but this web site wont let me untill I post 5 messeges. So if someone would allow me to email it to them and help me?

Thanks
Joseph

i have this card in one of my machines. if you have the 2.6.x kernel you'll want to look at alsa, however, th e machine i spoke of was runnning a 2.4 kernel and getting sound up was as simple as this

modprobe cs4232

then i added a line in /etc/modules.conf

alias sound-slot-0 cs4232

now that was w/mandrake 9.1 so you may be facing a different animal. hope this helps.
good luck.
